Not on Twitter? You’re Missing Out On Clients. Here Are 3 Simple Things You Need to Get Started.

If you’re not already on Twitter, you’re missing a huge opportunity.

Not only does it have 220 million active users every month, but it’s also one of the easiest platforms to get started on.

Here are 3 basic things you can start doing today to get more clients in your business with Twitter.

#1: Write a Twitter Thread a Day

If you don’t already know, a Twitter thread is just a multitude of tweets under a single tweet.

Think of it like a mini-blog post.

Now, why does it work so well for getting clients?

If you can keep someone engaged throughout the entire thread, you’ll have an opportunity to offer them something at the end.

This is where lead generation comes in.

At the very end, you can offer them one of two things:

  • Another piece of content that talks about the topic further

  • A freebie

So, let’s say I wrote a Twitter thread about how to make an outstanding offer.

At the end of my value-packed thread, I can say, “hey, I have a free guide that shows you exactly how to build an offer that sells itself. Here’s the link if you want it.

Not everyone will accept the offer.

And that’s a good thing.

For the people who do, though, it tells you they need more information on the topic — they become your leads.

#2: Engage in Twitter Spaces

If you’re a talker like me, Twitter spaces is another good option to engage your audience and generate leads.

Here’s why I love it:

  • I’m a talker, so it feels more natural

  • It can sometimes be hard to articulate your personality, style, and brand through written words.

Now, before you start using Twitter spaces, remember the goal is to serve.

Create spaces about things your audience wants to know more about.

For example, I held a space called “Marketing 101.”

This literally put out a bat signal saying, “hey digital entrepreneurs, if you want to learn how to do marketing, come to this space!”

Then, if they still needed more information after the space, I told them to send me a DM to get my freebie.

By running Twitter spaces, not only is it a good way to expose yourself to new people who might be interested in what you have to offer, it also helps you get more followers and leads.

#3: Create a Newsletter Directly on Twitter

A few years ago, Twitter partnered with an email newsletter service called Revue.

And, the cool thing about this is that instead of having to subscribe on your website, your followers can subscribe directly from Twitter.

So, why is this a really good opportunity to generate leads?

Here are some of the biggest reasons:

  • If they don’t know you very well, they’re more likely to subscribe directly through Twitter.

  • It’s another opportunity to give valuable content (and use your call-to-action at the end)

  • You actually own the email list

When you connect your email newsletter through Twitter, your followers are more likely to subscribe and get you more leads.

Conclusion

If you’re not already on Twitter, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity.

Not only is it a chance to gain exposure, but also a great way to get some leads for your business.

Just start with these 3 basic things:

  • Write a Twitter thread a day

  • Engage in Twitter spaces

  • Create a newsletter directly on Twitter

Stick with it long enough, and watch the leads come in.

Another great platform you can get started on is on LinkedIn.
